Graphic Design

So... What do you think of my web sites graphic design? The graphic layout, the color scheme, the... what?

Now that's mean.

I guess anyone can tell that I'm not a graphic designer. Never pretended to be. If you have a web site that you want me to design and program, I'd be most happy to do it. I recommend that you use a graphic designer other than me.

But, to paraphrase Atticus Finch,

Not all web graphic designers are equal. I know. Objective truth does exist, and there are web site designs that suck. I've seen website designs that don't allow for a site map deeper than 2 levels. I've seen flash navigation that Google, Yahoo, Msn and other search engines can never, ever (and I mean ever, not in a hundred years) read.

I know some good website designers, and would be happy to recommend one to you. Then what happens between you, the client, and him is out of my control. I don't want (and neither do you, judging by my website graphic design) to take responsibility for things like color scheme and tone and character and warmth and all that stuff. I just don't want you to be stuck with a web designer that doesn't care about your users, and is just dying to try out the new 3D Studio Max "Texture Overlay Environmental Mapping with Lighting and Funky New Filters" plugin[1] on your website. I would hate working on a web site like that. User experience is very important to me. I'm sure it is to you too.

I will get a real graphic designer to redo my coconut design of this site. Don't worry, the coconut will stay. Don't get me wrong. I love my graphic design; as a man loves his flea ridden dog that farts under the dinner table when guests arrive. I just know that most people don't appreciate flatulent dogs. I will change the graphic design. But till then, don't judge my programming skills by my deft color touch. Check out the portfolio page for that. It has a commentary in case you're not well versed in web design.
